Sausalito Parks and Recreation
Con carne, verde, veggie… you’ll taste it ALL and more at Sausalito's 43d Annual Chili Cook-off at Dunphy Park.
This year's quest for the best will cover three categories — Judge’s Choice, People’s Choice and Best Booth (this year's theme is Western). The festival will also include a chili pepper eating contest and other spicy surprises. BeaufunK will provide the lively soundtrack for this family/dog-friendly afternoon.
Tickets: $20 (for all-you-can-eat chili tasting and voting rights) Wristband sales begin at 11:30 a.m.
Beer, wine, soda and snow cones will be available for purchase, and a water bottle filling station will be on site.

Mill Valley Downtown Plaza
The Mill Valley Community Block Party once again takes over Miller Avenue (between Throckmorton and Sunnyside Ave.). Get ready for an afternoon of scintillating live music, a fashion show, and a hoppin' beer garden. 
This year's free concert, which is sponsored by Larry The Hat, is headlined by The Matt Jaffe Band and Mill Valley’s very own Tam High grads The 85’s.  DJ Richard Habib and special guests will also be on hand to entertain the crowd. There will also be plenty of fun kid activities in the Depot Plaza.
Event proceeds will benefit KIDDO! Arts Education in Mill Valley Schools. Food and drink will be provided by Boo Koo, Gravity Tavern, MV Market Tacos,  Waldscraft Bakery, and more. This year's Fashion Show will present new Fall Styles from “Best of Marin” boutiques. 
Admission is FREE. Donations accepted.

Downtown San Rafael B.I.D.
Calling all beer & wine lovers! Downtown San Rafael's Hops & Vines Stroll is happening on Saturday, September, 24th.
This festive tasting affair will take place along the Fourth Street corridor, with numerous downtown breweries/taprooms, boutiques, and businesses offering wine and beer tastings as well as light refreshments inside their establishments. Attendees will receive a glass and a map with all of the tasting locations.
Tickets: $30 (online); $40 (Day-of-Tickets)
The ticket price includes wine and beer samples at all of the tasting locations.

Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building
Looking to veg out this weekend? Then head over to the Sonoma County VegFest, the North Bay's wildly popular celebration of compassionate, healthy, and environmentally responsible living. The event features dozens of local vendors with delicious food, animal art, vegan boutiques, ethical animal encounters, and plenty of samples. There will be engaging speakers, vegan cooking demos, and music all day.

Mill Valley Film Festival
Celebrate the best of independent and world cinema alongside prestigious award contenders at the 45th Mill Valley Film Festival
The MVFF has an impressive track record of launching new films and new filmmakers. Each year the festival welcomes more than 200 filmmakers, representing more than 50 countries. Screening sections include World Cinema; US Cinema; Valley of the Docs; Children’s FilmFest; a Daily Shorts program; and Active Cinema (MVFF’s activist films initiative). Festival guests can also enjoy Filmmaker and Actor Tributes, Spotlights and Galas throughout. From film-related concerts at Sweetwater Music Hall to exclusive industry panels at Mill Valley's Outdoor Art Club and a sumptuous closing night party, MVFF offers a "reel" good time for film lovers.
