Owner David Haydon infuses just enough of California into the Italian menu at his eponymously named restaurant. Caesar salad dressing is gently spiked with anchovy, cioppino is thick with mussels, salmon and crab and a wedge salad is graced with gorgonzola and blue cheese dressing. Dig a bit deeper into Italy with seasonal specials, like winter’s torta di porri or one of the house-made pastas – cacio e pepe is classic.
