Sausalito Center for the Arts

For the month of August, The Sausalito Center for the Arts is presenting The Art of Jerry Garcia.

An artist from childhood who was painting in oils by the age of seventeen, Jerry Garcia in his youth thought of himself as “an artist who played music." Throughout the years of his prodigious musical output he continued drawing and painting.

The exhibition includes behind-the-scenes Rock & Roll photography from Carol Scott, whose photograph of Mick Jagger is part of the Permanent Collection, National Portrait Gallery, London, and artwork by legendary psychedelic artists such as Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, and Rick Griffin. This private collection has never been displayed in public before and will debut during this special event.

SCA will exhibit and offer for sale 40 art works (each sale contributes entirely to supporting SCA).
