Inspired by Jeff Burkhart’s acclaimed “Twenty Years Behind Bars” and his popular Barfly column in the Marin IJ, this original production uncovers how much we can learn about life, love, and ourselves from the other side of the counter.

This original story of riches to rags reveals all of life’s questions can be answered watching the world from behind a bar. Isabelle Tennyson, a clever young woman has everything only to discover she has nothing at all. She leaves her posh life to learn bartending under Claire Jordan, a legendary bartender with a failing bar called The Near Miss. The two forge an unlikely friendship to confront the unfair systems affecting their lives.

After the performance there will be a meet and greet with Jeff and the cast in the VIP lounge with a Q & A, and possibly some cocktails.
