The Queen of Bay Area Rhythm & Blues, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, return to Rancho Nicasio for a dinner show this Saturday.

Pense has been belting out funk and soul for more than five decades, and she can still shout like a '60s soul diva or slow things down with a spine-tingling blues ballad. Behind her, Cold Blood packs a gritty horn section, a rock-solid rhythm section, and veteran players who've backed the likes of Elvin Bishop, Boz Scaggs, and Albert Collins. Their latest album leans hard into the blues while keeping plenty of that signature "East Bay Grease," so expect new material alongside classics like "You Got Me Hummin'" and "I'm A Good Woman."

The Adrian West Band are bringing their original acoustic rock and jazz to the Osher Marin JCC this Sunday.

The popular six-piece band will be performing two sets of acoustic rock and jazz, a sound they describe as "Paul Simon meets Talking Heads meets Herbie Hancock." Based in Oakland, the band is led by Adrian West, a classically trained violinist turned drummer, guitarist and singer whose lyrics range from whimsical to philosophical. His band leans on jazz-trained players, so the originals get room to stretch, and the set mixes in popular jazz standards plus a rock cover or two. Expect roughly 70% originals and 30% covers & standards, including songs by Dave Matthews, the Indigo Girls, Chuck Mangione, Chick Corea and Kenny Garrett.

Marin Theatre Company (MTC) presents Betrayal by Harold Pinter from October 22 - November 15.

The end is the beginning. Moving backwards and forwards, Betrayal illuminates a seven-year affair between Emma and Jerry, her husband Robert’s closest friend. As the story unravels, the tension between memory and reality is sharpened, revealing shifting perspectives, hidden motives, unspoken power dynamics, and titillating pleasure behind the deception. Laced with Pinter’s signature wit, this piercing drama is a masterclass in what is said — and unsaid — between lovers and friends. Words and silences punctuate the irreversible consequences of long-concealed truths and betrayals which reverberate far beyond a single act.

After helming hit productions of The Cherry Orchard and Waste, A.C.T. Artistic Director Emerita Carey Perloff returns to Marin Theatre to direct.

Join the Ross Valley Players for a captivating production of Death of a Salesman.

Arthur Miller’s award-winning play is a work of deep and revealing beauty, that remains one of the most profound achievements in American theater. Set in late 1940s Brooklyn and told through a montage of memories, dreams, and arguments of the protagonist traveling salesman Willy Loman who is despondent with his life and appears to be slipping into senility. Several tragic, soul-searching revelations – concerning his wife, his sons and his business associates – underscore how his quest for the “American Dream” kept him blind to the people who truly loved him.
