The battle may be over, but the music is just getting started!
On Thursday, the winner and runner-up of this year’s Battle of the Bands Competition take the Sweetwater stage for a high-energy night of live music.
Kicking things off are The Meaty Ogres, serving up a heavy dose of soul, funk and rock. With raw grooves, soaring guitars and gritty vocals, the band knows how to turn a show into a full-on party built for dancing, singing along and getting lost in the music.
Then it’s Gas Money, a local band formed by four teenagers who are proving that rock & roll is alive and well. They’ve quickly built a following with their infectious energy and eclectic sound, covering everything from Stevie Wonder to Metallica and plenty in between.

HopMonk turns up the volume this Saturday with San Fran Halen, the Bay Area’s ultimate Van Halen tribute band! If you ever air-guitared in your bedroom or blasted Panama in your car, this night’s for you. And the ’80s nostalgia doesn’t stop there. Def Lepp, the popular Def Leppard tribute band to crank the nostalgia even higher. a Def Leppard tribute band, will crank things up with favorites like Pour Some Sugar on Me and Love Bites.

Fresh off a busy summer of performances across the Bay Area and tour stops in Colorado, and Wyoming, Wreckless Strangers return to the Paper Mill Creek Saloon this Friday.
With their latest alblum Dirty Souls, Wreckless Strangers return to their rock-and-roll roots, delivering their rawest and most visceral studio effort to date. Marin Jazz and the Lark Theater present The Ray Charles Project this Saturday.
In tribute to the genius of Ray Charles, a swinging sextet of outstanding Bay Area musicians offers their take on some of the highlights from Ray’s amazing songbook. A band of prominent musicians is perpetuating that legacy and bringing his music to San Francisco. The band is a meeting of elite jazz and blues musicians including 11-time GRAMMY® Award winner and Santana vocalist Tony Lindsay & noted Bay Area guitarist Chris Cain.
The Ray Charles Project is a rock solid line-up all-stars. In addition to Tony Lindsay on vocals (Santana) and Chris Cain on guitar, the band includes Maze on vocals (Narada Michael Walden), Myron Dove on bass (Santana), Kevin Hayes on drums (Robert Cray Band), and Eamonn Flynn on piano/keyboards.

Marin Theatre Company (MTC) presents The White Chip, a sobering comedy of errors (August 27 - September 20).
Success seems to come easily to Steven McAlister. Charismatic and constantly in motion, he’s built a life that looks enviable from the outside — complete with a dream job at a prestigious theatre. But from his very first drink at 12, it’s clear he has been lying to himself for years. Equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking, this “recovery comedy” unfolds from Steven’s own disarmingly candid and charmingly funny perspective. Named for the tokens given in Alcoholics Anonymous to mark the beginning of sobriety, The White Chip follows Steven as he barrels through the highs, lows, and spectacular missteps of addiction, telling a story about the courage to start over, one day at a time. Marin Artistic Director Lance Gardner helms this production.

Arthur Miller’s award-winning play is a work of deep and revealing beauty, that remains one of the most profound achievements in American theater.
Set in late 1940s Brooklyn and told through a montage of memories, dreams, and arguments of the protagonist traveling salesman Willy Loman who is despondent with his life and appears to be slipping into senility. Several tragic, soul-searching revelations – concerning his wife, his sons and his business associates – underscore how his quest for the “American Dream” kept him blind to the people who truly loved him.
