Shuffle the tiles and grab a seat at the table! The International Mahjong Festival takes over the Mill Valley Community Center on Saturday, October 24th, for a one-of-a-kind celebration of Mahjong, culture, food, and community.

Presented by Marin Mahjong, the festival brings together players and instructors from a wide range of traditions, including Chinese, American, Japanese Riichi, Taiwanese, Filipino, and Malaysian Mahjong. Watch live demonstrations, learn the origins of each style, try a beginner-friendly introduction, or jump into drop-in social play at tables for every style on display.

Come hungry, too! Local food vendors and food carts will be serving up international bites, with food tickets available for purchase on site. There's also a silent auction, Mahjong-related vendors, and limited-edition festival merch.

Whether you're a seasoned player or just Mahjong-curious, it's a fun way to explore the game's rich history and meet fellow tile lovers, all for a good cause: proceeds benefit Mill Valley Recreation's scholarship program, helping Southern Marin families access recreation and enrichment programs.
