Sweetwater Music Hall

The Blind Boys of Alabama returns to Sweetwater this Tuesday with their annual Christmas tour.

The Blind Boys of Alabama have been celebrated by The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the Recording Academy with Lifetime Achievement Awards, and been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. They have won five Grammy® Awards, attaining the highest levels of achievement in a career that spans over 70 years. The group is known for crossing multiple musical boundaries with their remarkable interpretations of everything from traditional gospel favorites to contemporary spiritual material by songwriters such as Eric Clapton, Prince, and Tom Waits. 

 

Their latest album, “Echoes Of The South,” has been nominated for three Grammy®s, including Best American Roots Performance, Best Americana Performance, and Best Roots Gospel Album.

Have you ever danced the night away to a 15-piece orchestra? The Bay Area’s own Renegade Orchestra is performing this Friday at Rancho Nicasio.

The string orchestra will be accompanied by a swingin’ rhythm section playing the greatest dance hits of the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s, along with a little jazzy holiday music. Come cut a rug to the most swing danceable tunes, from "Sing, Sing, Sing" to "Jingle Bell Rock". Easy dance tempos, a romantic and beautiful sound, and a fun place to come dance! 

There will be a beginners swing dance lesson before the show.
