Experience an intimate night of extraordinary music as Marin Symphony’s Chamber Music Series presents Winds vs. Strings.” This engaging program showcases the unique voices of woodwinds and strings in a musical “showdown” featuring works by Madeleine Dring, Irving Fine, and Felix Mendelssohn.

The program begins with woodwinds taking center stage, performing expressive works by Dring and Fine. After intermission, the strings take over with Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat Major, Op. 20 — considered one of the greatest masterpieces ever written by a teenage composer.
